What is our methodology?

Our projects are led by specialists with high scientific potential and extensive experience acquired, both in academic institutions and in industry. Essentially, the project assigned by the client is executed in several stages.

- First, scanning is performed on millions of chemical substances, and, by use of all the most modern means, it is estimated whether they would be active to a particular protein which basically determines a certain physiological process. This stage is particularly important because the cost only of a single substance for direct experimental testing is about $100, which automatically leads to the need for investment in the range of several million dollars. Through our technology we reduce the number according to the clients request to 10-100 substances, which are experimentally tested and the one with the highest activity and potentially low toxicity is selected – that is the lead compound. Our company guarantees 50% success in identifying new substances, i.e. we guarantee that at least 5 of the tested 10 substances will be active. Further, with the relevant certificates issued by our foreign partners and us, this can be easily patented, and the client can decide how to continue its development to a final product.

- Second, we provide optimization of the above-mentioned lead compound in order to increase its activity and eliminate the potential toxic effects. This is usually the most expensive stage in the pharmaceutical industry, and it is carried out through a combination of theoretical and experimental methods. At this stage, transformation of a particular active molecule into another is performed, and this is a costly procedure. This is why we can estimate in advance which molecules would have the optimal effect, using a method newly introduced in the pharmaceutical industry at the end of 2017. After the finalization of this stage and the relevant experimental tests, when the certificates are issued, the client receives the final product, which is, namely, a new unique substance for their product intended for the cosmetic or the pharmaceutical industry.

Here, we wish to point out that the methodology for the development of a new effective active substance, e.g. treatment of wrinkles or of a certain disease, is practically the same. Therefore, it is up to the clients to decide what would be their economic benefit from the development of a product with a specific influence to a particular physiological process or disease. Our company is not involved in the implementation of products on the market.

The reason is that giant companies have their own innovation centers, and high-end specialists abroad work mainly for such companies or prestigious universities. Foreign companies that have similar activity to ours very quickly in their development also “close” the cycle and avoid offering such services, while focusing on the straight implementation of market-ready products. The reason for this is very logical and is due to that fact that the initial phase of the discovery of an active substance and its optimization in terms of increasing its activity and eliminating the toxic effects is the most expensive part in the manufacture of a drug.

You own medicinal cosmetics development

We provide to our customers discovery of novel active substances for medicinal cosmetics development.
The principle of this development is similar to the drug discovery process described here. However, we also screen databases including natural chemicals extracted from plants. These are substances mainly from traditional Chinese and Indian medicine as well as many chemicals extracted from plants recognized as effective herbs in Africa, Europe and worldwide. If required, we can and do screen databases that are typical for traditional drug design, but we are also capable of taking into consideration many of our clients’ preference for natural products. One reason for the latter is that, compared to drug development, the procedure applied for the necessary clinical tests and certification is much easier. For instance, within most EU countries this process usually takes only a year.

Similarly to drug design, we offer an individual project to each of our clients. It includes an initial collection of data about the recent advances in the study of the field requested. Further, the most promising target protein candidate is selected. As in the drug design, each skin disease or any other disorder and reverses characteristic of a particular age are linked to specific biological processes that in turn are linked to protein-protein interactions, i.e. signaling pathways, and the selection of the target protein is critically important. In other words. any drugs or cosmetic substances to be developed require certain knowledge of the process that should be either stopped or activated. After the target selection, we perform the third stage of the development, which includes screening of thousands of natural compounds to find those which are potentially biologically active to the chosen protein, i.e. which can solve the observed cosmetic problem in the best way. Finally, we submit these compounds for experimental tests and the chemical that is the most active and the least risky is selected as the final product.
